Developer Advocate
Filecoin Foundation & Protocol Labs · Melbourne / APAC
Led APAC developer and infrastructure engagement for the world's largest decentralised storage network — 100+ hackathons, 12+ accelerators, $1M+ in prizes and grant reviews up to $200K.

Overview
Filecoin is the largest decentralised storage network. For two and a half years Jenks was one of the Foundation's developer advocates, working across Filecoin Foundation, Protocol Labs and the wider network with a focus on APAC.
What Jenks did
- Owned developer documentation and developer experience for parts of the stack.
- Spoke and presented at developer conferences and hackathons across APAC (including FIL Hong Kong).
- Worked with storage providers to develop ecosystem tools, and managed open-source community work.
- Ran the "builders funnel": hackathons and grants for early teams, with accelerators, startups and VCs for more established projects.
- Evaluated technical teams and grant applications, helping allocate prize and grant funding.
- Evangelised Web3, decentralisation and DePIN (decentralised physical infrastructure).
Achievements
- Supported 100+ hackathons and 12+ accelerator programs.
- Helped allocate $1M+ in prizes and reviewed funding requests of up to $200K.
- Became a recognisable voice for the ecosystem in APAC through podcasts and conference stages.
Why it matters to employers
Grant and hackathon evaluation is applied technical due diligence: judging teams, architecture and viability quickly and fairly. Combined with ecosystem-scale community work, it shows Jenks can run programs with real money attached and make defensible decisions — useful for innovation programs, venture-style AI pilots and partner ecosystems.
